Train

Trains are an excellent way to get around in Thailand, especially for seniors who may have more time on their hands.  For “train nuts” and those who enjoy leisurely trips, you can traverse the length and breadth of the Kingdom by train; from Hat Yai to Chiang Mai, and from Bangkok to Nong Khai on the Lao border.

For those who wish to experience the mystery, romance, and adventure of the luxury trains of a bygone era, climb aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express for a few days.  Regular routes run between Bangkok and Singapore, with stops at the Bridge over the River Kwai, and historic Penang Island in Malaysia.
