While the parents are marveling at the splendor and beauty of the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Dawn, and other magnificent sites around Thailand’s bustling capital, the kids may well be wondering how you’ll be getting to your next attraction: by boat, or tuk-tuk, or motorcycle, Skytrain, or subway. For them, getting there will probably be more than half the fun.
The key to families enjoying the big city is choosing the right hotel or resort in the right location.Be sure to book a family-friendly hotel not far from a mass transit station. The best places will offer many services for children, as well as special prices. Some will have baby-sitting services, game rooms and libraries, and special meals; others will have special tours, activities, and events for the kids.
And remember, Bangkok is one the world’s great cities, so if the kids want to do it, or eat it, or buy it, you can probably find it: from shopping to sports, from i-phones to ice skating, and from golfing to go-carts; all you have to do is ask, and someone will point you in the right direction.
