It is no exaggeration to say that some of the best jazz bars in Southeast Asia are in Thailand.  Thai artists and musicians have very eclectic taste, and you will notice that the art and music is often a fusion of Eastern and Western influences.  This can produce some stunning results in these fields.

Of course, jazz has always drawn on many influences, so it is the perfect genre for great musicians to explore.  Bangkok has some legendary jazz clubs, very easy to find in any entertainment publication, or even by asking.  And increasingly, jazz clubs, or jazz nights, can be found in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, and Pattaya.
