Adventurous Shopping Experience

Bangkok is a real Shopping paradise. Markets can be found around the corner. Busy soi or road can turn into flea markets or shopping lanes just after the rush hours. Listed below is some of the vibrant flea markets.

Hidden well in Silom Soi 5, Soi Lalaysub is the most popular market fair for office people working in the Silom crowded business district. That is the reason why this market is open only on weekdays. You can find hot fashion items namely clothes, ornament, cosmetics at remarkable cheap prices.

Ruam Sub Market in Soi Asoke off Sukhumvit Road is the same. It mainly caters busy shoppers who are company staff working in Asoke area, so it is open on weekdays only. Here you will find a selection of local lunches and huge bargains on local sundries such as DVD's, ladies clothing, plus a massive simple format dining complex of tables and chairs surrounded by many food stalls.

Right behind Thai Airways International’s headquarters, on Vibhavadi 22, is Lung Perm Market. Some call it “Thai Airways” market as it is always busy at noon when a number of airline staff and nearby offices take lunch break. Besides general merchandises for office staff, the market is unique with luxurious items like brand name handbag, or cosmetics, of which shop keepers claim they are imported by cabin crews.

If you find these market are not enough, Chatuchak Weekend Market seems to be the best answer. The world’s biggest weekend market. With over a thousand shops, the market offers foods, home decorations, tools, books, clothes, trees, pets, crafts and antiquities. Though it is terribly hot, it is worthwhile to explore.
