Under the Budget of 5,000 baht, a couple can spend three days to explore and experience in the famous city of Lanna. 

Day 1 : Doi Suthep-Wat Umong. Ban Khang Wat –Nimman 
Rent a motorbike at 300 baht a day or hop around on the red bus at the same Budget, you and your partner can explore outskirt of Chiang Mai. Start from Doi Suthep, the hill top temple which is landmark of the city. Spend a visit to Wat Umong, the 700 years old Buddhist temple with a small tunnel system. Stroll Ban Khang Wat, the art complex where local artists show off their crafts and art piece. Completed your day at the vibrant enclave of Nimmanhaeminda Road. 

Day 2 : Bike Trip in walled city. Rent a bike at 50 baht per day and explore the Chiang Mai Old Town. Learn about Lanna culture and tradition in the Lanna Folklife Museum, Chiang Mai Historical Center and Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Center( Admission fee 90 baht per person per museum). Do not miss to visit significant temples including Wat Phra Sing, Wat Chedi Luang, and Wat Pun Tao. 

Day 3 : Sankamphaeng . Rent a motorbike or hop on the red bus to Sankamphaeng at the east of the city. Visit Mai Iam Contemporary Art Museum (admission Fee 150 baht per person) then spend comfortable afternoon to search for crafts at Samamphaeng Market. 

Budgeted accommodation at lower than 1,000 baht per night are widely available. The 1,000 baht daily expense may be a bit tight for two persons, but it can make your plan comes true.
