Koh Kwang: the local flavor of Chanthaburi

Its modern look is misunderstood as a café, but Pad Thai Ban Chan is among the best Pad Thai restaurants in town. Rich in ingredients and extremely full flavored. Pad Thai lover should not miss it. Pad Thai Ban Chan serves the fried noodle with various toppings such as seafood, squid, crab, sweeten mussel, garlic chicken and river prawn.
The restaurant Krua Khun Dang which is located right next the water, is another serene place to dine. The modest restaurant simply impresses customers with authentic Chanthaburi’s local dishes, which are all exceptional. Signature dishes include Moo Chamuang (Pork belly curry with sour Chamuang leaves), grilled big tiger prawn, chicken curry with cardamom and roasted banana with its great sauce.
The elegant loft-style Platoo Restaurant also redefines the standard of Chanthaburi’s dining. The riverside restaurant serves full flavored Thai dishes like the signature dish, Tom Yum Pla Too or Mackerel Tom Yum, stir-fried squids in black sauce and local dishes of the province.
Completed your food tour with Somtam in the cozy atmosphere might be a good option. Nestled in a peaceful village of Silaphon, Tam Chan serves full flavored somtam, glass noodle salad, fish cake and other authentic Thai dishes. The shop is open from Thursday to Sunday.
