TAT Hat Yai Office arrange a welcoming the special train “MY Sawasdee” bringing more than 400 Malaysian tourists to join the Countdown 2024 festival in the Songkhla, Thailand.
On December 30, 2023, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Hat Yai Office, led by Mrs. Nongyao Jirandorn, Director of the Hat Yai Office, together with the management of Hat Yai Junction Railway Station, Central Hat Yai Shopping Center, Robinson Department Store, Diana Complex Shopping Center, government and private sector to a welcoming the special train “MY Sawasdee” that take 415 tourists travel to Hatyai, mostly Malaysians. The train depart from Sentral KL Station, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the night of December 29, 2023 and arrive at Hatyai Railway Station on next day morning, December 30, 2023. Songkhla Province held the countdown events in many places, including the Hatyai Countdown 2024 at Supasarn Rangsan Park, the Hatyai Countdown 2024 at Central Hatyai Shopping Center, Counting the Stars under the Sky 2024(Countdown 2024) atRegional Observatory for the Public, Songkhla, Songkhla Countdown 2024 at Songkhla City Public Park.
Actually, the first welcome event has already been organized on December 9, 2023 to welcoming 417 passengers who came with the “MY Sawasdee” train at Hatyai Railway Station. This is the second time. TAT Hatyai has received good cooperation as same as the last times from the government and private sector join in delivering valuable travel experiences, happiness and impressions to Malaysia tourists. They will be welcomed with flower garlands and Amazing Thailand bags and souvenirs from partners. Such as a welcome pack and a discount cards. For make awareness Songkhla and a nearby area throughout the end of the year 2023 to the beginning of 2024
Mrs. Nongyao Jirandorn, Office Director TAT Hat Yai Office said that Malaysian tourists is the most popular nation travel to Thailand. Especially family groups, Active senior groups, working age groups. As well as Songkhla Province is a popular destination. The food, massage, shopping and night life are their favorite etc. KTM Berhad, Malaya Railway State enterprise that oversees the rail mass transit system in Malaysia organize a special trains(Kuala Lumpur-Hat Yai-Kuala Lumpur). It has a positive effect on Songkhla Province. This increases the opportunity to expand the First Visit and Re-visit tourist market base very well. Throughout 2023, there was be arranged more than 20 trips, bringing more than 8,000 tourists to the Songkkla province, and KTM Berhad has plans to continue the service in 2024.
