Phitsanulok’s night markets
Take a visit to some of Phitsanulok’s markets which is a nice way to get in touch with the locals. Phitsanulok has many casual markets with outstanding characters worthwhile your visit.
The biggest and most vibrant market is the “Night Market”, which opens daily from 5 pm. till 11 pm. It may be smaller than Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, moreover, it offers a stronger local touch. Mainly local people use this market for shopping which is ranging from utensils, toys, to fashion items for teenagers. Do not expect touristy souvenir or western food here. However, there are a lot of Thai food to try out. The locals spend their easy evening here while they are shopping or dining along the Nan River. Street music and stage performances by local students makes shopping even more enjoyable.
The market stretches along Sangha Buja Road for 2 km - from the foot of Eka Tosarot Bridge to the Provincial Electricity Authority’s office.
The “Market Street” offers a Retro atmosphere at the entrance of Ban Khlong Market. Adapted from an old gas station, it attracts shoppers with fancy decoration from yesteryears such as vintage cars and motorcycles. The market opens daily from noon to midnight.
The brand new Dino Market, which is located in the downtown area, entertains shoppers with dinosaur sculptures which offers great photo opportunity. In addition to the market itself, there is a park, a playground, an activity area, and dining area available. It opens daily from 5 pm. till midnight.
