After finishing our workshop, we'll meet up with our local guide from the Old Phuket Town Community at Museum Phuket. It's just a short walk from Sitao Studio. This museum is a great place to learn about Phuket's history, from its early days to the Peranakan way of life. They have a fantastic collection of kebayas on display.

The Kebaya is a traditional dress for women in Southern Thailand. There are three main types: Biku, featuring intricate lace embroidery in a single color; Linda, with connected lace embroidery and a front opening; and Sulam, with intricate embroidery in various colors. Kebaya, along with similar traditional attire in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In Thailand, it's commonly worn in provinces like Phuket, Phang Nga, Ranong, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Visitors to these regions can experience the beauty of the kebaya by trying it on and taking photos.

After visiting Museum Phuket, it was time for lunch. We strolled past the charming Sino-Portuguese buildings and entered BAAN 92. Walking through the house, we discovered a beautiful courtyard with a traditional well and feng shui elements designed to allow for natural ventilation. The house features original red brick walls and spans an impressive 86 meters. Today, this historic building serves as a welcoming space for guests of the Old Phuket Town Community.

We were treated to a cooking demonstration of Phuket's authentic Hokkien noodles. The chef uses only the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients, including homemade wheat flour noodles. The delicate flavor of the dish is enhanced by separating the choy sum leaves and stems and using a variety of seafood. Visitors are welcome to participate in the cooking process and experience the unique taste of this local specialty.

Following the central part of the house, a charming community garden awaits. Here, you can enjoy a complimentary refreshing Jade Dragon herbal drink made from basil, pineapple, and mango. In addition, there are stalls offering local snacks like Angku Koei, a traditional red turtle cake, and Apong, a delicious crispy pancake. Visitors can even participate in workshops to learn how to make these treats themselves.

While enjoying our meal, we were treated to a live performance by Annie, the blind guzheng virtuoso known as the "Guzheng Angel of Phuket." Her beautiful melodies, which spanned Chinese, Western, and Thai pop music, created a truly enchanting atmosphere.

After savoring the delicious local cuisine, we headed to number 78, also known as WOO or the Moh Seng Museum. This historic building, which is over 150 years old, was once a renowned European watch shop, selling expensive wall and wristwatches. The 106-meter long building, spanning two streets, now houses both a boutique hotel, Woo Gallery & Boutique Hotel, on Phang Nga Road, and the Moh Seng Museum on Thalang Road.

The museum features a curated collection of household items that belonged to the Vuttichayan family. From furniture and appliances to personal effects, these artifacts provide valuable insights into the daily lives of a Phuket family in the past. It's a must-visit for history buffs and anyone interested in local culture.
