To visit the cave, visitors must climb the stairs from the foot of the hill to the mouth of the cave about 100 metres up. When the light shines on the caves cell, it will sparkle like beautiful red, black and brown stars. The beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations are on the cell and the wall.

Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat
Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat stands across from the Lop Buri railway station, its origins shrouded in mystery. Upon stepping onto the temple grounds, visitors are greeted by the
“Sala Plueang Khrueang” pavilion, a place for a king to get changed before attending the religious ceremony in the wihan or ubosot. Now, only its pillars remain, hinting at its former grandeur. Adjacent to the pavilion is the“Wihan Luang,” a monumental structure commissioned during the reign of King Narai the Great. Adorned with a Thai-style rectangular main entrance and French Gothic-inspired pierced windows, the wihan enshrines a Buddha image on a masonry base known as Chukkachi. It was a collaborative effort between Lop Buri province and devout Buddhists.

Statue of King Narai the Great

Phra Narai Ratchaniwet

Day 3 : Lop Buri

Sunflower Fields

Phra Prang Sam Yot
Phra Prang Sam Yot is located on a mound on the west side of the railway near San Phra Kan. The compound comprises 3 prangs linked to one another by a corridor. It reflects the Bayon style of Khmer art Dating back roughly to the 12th-13th century. The sanctuaries are crafted from a laterite, and adorned with intricate stucco reliefs. The colonettes were engraved into a hermit, sitting with raised knees under the Ruean Kaeo shelter, which was typical of the Bayon style in Khmer art. Initially serving as a pedestal for enshrining a Buddha image, the central sanctuary boasts a stunning wooden ceiling, its red asterisks patterns a captivating sight.

Prang Khaek
Prang Khaek is the oldest monument of Lop Buri and the oldest Khmer-style Hindu Shrine to be found in Thailands central region. A fascinating small compound of Khmer remains, it consists of the three brick prangs constructed without adjoining corridors. Prang Khaek was restored by King Narai the Great in the 17th century. Recently restored by the Fine Arts Department, it is located on Vichayen Road, near the Narai Ratchaniwet Palace.
